Automaker Ford starts today the production of the B-max model in Romanian factory located in the city of Craiova (South-Western Romania). According to Romania-insider.com, Ford will produce 60,000 units in 2012 and 100,000 in 2013. Local newspaper Gazeta de Sud said 3600 people are employed in the Craiova factory.
Most of them worked in the past for the car manufacturer Oltcit , during the Ceausescu’s era, and, after 90s, for the Daewoo factory located in Craiova. Over 1000 workers of the total number of 3600 are waiting for instructions; now, they said didn’t work anything. Ford announced would fire 250 workers, offering them compensations.
According to workers, the average monthly salary in Craiova factory is 300-400 Euros.
