A man was arrested in Germany in connection with the Rotterdam’s Kunsthal Museum art theft in 2012, Romanian media said, quoting “information from German media”. According to TV network’s website antena3.ro, the 47 years old man was involved in a negotiation for a ransom which was taking place in Koln, Germany, between two lawyers, employed by the thieves, and the Triton Foundation, the owner of the masterpieces.
In this case, three men are arrested in Romania and a woman in Netherlands. Seven masterpieces were stolen last year from the Museum.
UPDATE: German prosecutor Ulrich Bremer, told The Associated Press on Thursday that the 46-year-old German was arrested on Wednesday near Freiburg in the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg. More here.
